A one-time school project gone terribly, terribly wrong.

From BoingBoing Today

Terry Pratchett has addressed an open letter to his fans (on Paul Kidby's Discworld News) with some genuinely awful news -- he has a rare form of early-onset Alzheimer's. His note is incredibly brave and chipper. The man's a real inspiration -- incredibly prolific, brilliant and talented, friendly and clearly as happy as anything with where he's found himself.

Why is it always the good guys?

First Douglas Adams, then Donald Jack, and now Pratchett?
Thats the problem with people - you can never truly replace them - especially the ones you care about.

I saw this yesterday on h2g2 (a site that was started by Douglas Adams) and also posted about it on casa az today. It's very sad news indeed.

I'm just so unthrilled by this news. Why couldn't Cheney's pacemaker have thrown a rod or something?

Is this because a just and loving god likes Pratchett's work so much he's decided he's earned an early ticket home?

In other news, Geo. Bush Jr., Robert Mugabe, and Kim Jong Il are said to be in the pink.
