One of These Things is Not Like the Others

Okay class. A little geography lesson: All of the marked points on this map are countries except?

Well here's a clue for comparison:

Notice anything about those two pics?
I didn't know Yahoo! was so sovereigntiste.

Still working on the whole gloom & misery thing. Feeling a bit better today, but I can feel it's going to be a long few days' road. Just not sure how much I want to say about what, and a little constrained by circumstances.

Bastards! I do not bloody well live anywhere near Sydney!

I worked in the states for a while and one common question I got was "what's the driving time from Auckland to Sydney?"
My typical response involved a counter-question involving snorkels, which generally went puzzlingly by unnoticed. Apparently the mis-understanding is that both Auckland and Sydney have Harbour Bridges, and people think they are opposite ends of the same bridge.

The mind boggles...

Bonjour Monsieur Metro

Courage, mon brave

.... chocolate ..... I venture to recommend a larger allowance of chocolate in your daily study ...

.... ahh ... ummm ... schokolade ..

and lamp=posts ...perhaps you should avoid too closely colliding with lamp=posts ... on this side of the Pond, we seem to have particularly wild & embarrassing lamp=posts, especially in Hay & popular Festivals on this side of the Pond

... even Narnian lamp=posts seem to involve complications with the local Secret Police .....

Alles Gute

@ Richard:

At least they haven't split your country into "Y! Canada" and "Y! Quebec".

Quebec's not a country. All the other listed places are.

You mean Auckland's NOT over the Old Coat Hanger? Then who the hell was that bloke at that Customs shack on the far end? --and is 2ยข NZ to $1 Aus. a good exchange rate?

@M. Eagle:
Many thanks. I had thought that Mmlle PhlIpa should perhaps invest in a walking helmet. Or possibly just ensure that her wee darlings are within scope, ahead of her, at all times.

Well, Asia isn't a country.

Whoops. Good eye. But Asia does contain several countries, and one could not complain did it list them all.

Quebec, though, is part of Canada on the North American continent. It is, as far as I can tell, the only province to receive special mention on the map there.

Now that I think of it, why should Yahoo! be any different?
