But I digress ...

Just a Couple of Questions, Sir

  • Isn't an "American Staffordshire" the same thing as a "Pit Bull"?
  • Was the dog on a leash?

  • I'm sure it was. All Pit Bull owners are the responsible type, as they keep saying (Pit Bulls don't kill people etc.) and would never allow a dog off-leash in bear country, right?

    hey...
    1. Kind of... "Pit Bulls" is a super category.
    2. It doesn't sound like the dog attaked until after he needed help?
An avid outdoorsman, Tilley was four days into a 12-day canoe trip. He said he heard Sam growl and noticed the bear closing in on him. He waved his arms and slowly backed away. But the bear came closer, cutting off his escape route.
It sounds like the dog was under conrol and only attacked the bear when Tilley was threatened.

    3. See Gladwell on pitbulls: http://gladwell.com/2006/2006_02_06_a_pitbull.html

    Hi K.M.

Welcome to the Metro Show. I'd like to respond but it's getting a bit longer than I predicted (as the Bishop said to the actress).

So I'm dedicating a posting to it. I hope to keep it brief, but don't count on it.
